During the 2006-2007 school year, the Erie Parents’ Club was able to bring the following programs, events and services to the Erie school district and community:

1) Presented a monthly movie night for the community.

2) Donated $305 to WQPT to help support their programs.

3) At registration, provided sacks for parents to carry all forms and registration information in and sold pocket sized calendars.

4) Market Day ordering and deliveries were once again provided with the help of the Parents’ Club volunteers.

5) Supper was provided (tacos this year) and held during the District Open House.

6) Selected the list of Room Mothers and provided them with supplies and lists of volunteers for the class parties.

7) Sweatshirts with the Erie log on them were made available for sale through the Parents’ Club.

8) Held the annual Secret Santa shopping program for the Elementary school students.

9) Organized and funded the day before Christmas break movie day and showed the movie “Cars” for the elementary school.

10) Donated pop and cookies to the Middle School for day before Christmas break.

11) Donated gift items from Secret Santa program to area nursing home, homeless shelter and to area soldiers serving in the military.

12) Sponsored an ongoing teacher requisition form program in which staff can make requests for items that they need and which generally are not budgeted for. Through our teacher requisition forms, we provided the following to the schools:
---1) Microwave for the Elementary building and Annex.
---2) Small refrigerator for the Annex.
---3) DVD player for the Annex.
---4) Two GIGA balls for the gym program at the Elementary school.
---5) Five DVD players for the Middle school to use for multimedia presentations.
---6) Board games for the High School Big Brother/Big Sister program.
---7) Additional art supplies to restock the paint supply at the High school and Elementary school.

13) Funded the seminar, “The Commitment to Excellence” for the High School and Middle School students in March, 2007.

14) Supported the American Red Cross by holding the Pint Size Hero blood drive at the Elementary school in February, 2007.

15) Purchased lanyards for the Elementary staff for their new security badges.

16) Raised money that went directly to the schools through the Swiss Valley Milk Cap program.

17) Signed Erie up in the Target Red Card program in which purchases using the Target Red Card credit card can provide funds for the Erie school district.

18) Provided a movie and refreshments during ISATs for the 3rd and 4th grade students.

19) Provided volunteer helpers for the Drug Awareness seminar held in April.

20) Provided volunteer helpers for the Big Brother/Big Sister luncheon.

21) Parents’ Club volunteers were again seen at the schools for Teacher Appreciation Week delivering refreshments. Massages were once again set up for the teachers.

22) Once again, funds from the candle fundraiser were provided to the Elementary and Middle school libraries to purchase new books.

23) The annual spring carnival was held. This year was a pirate theme and included games and entertainment, free door prizes and bike drawing for the kids, lots of refreshments and raffle drawings.

22) Four scholarships of $500 each were awarded to graduating seniors.

23) Donated bike helmets to the kindergarten class.

24) Held the annual Last Day of School event.

25) Purchased retirement gifts for Jane Keag, Sheri Coate, and Barb Fuller-Curry.
