Sheltered Reality Performs in Erie

On Tuesday, April 22nd, the Iowa drumming group,
Sheltered Reality, performed for Erie students. Sheltered
Reality is a nation wide group composed of people of all ages who
are interested in learning to drum and then sharing their skills at
performances. This group encourages its audiences to strive
to do their best in all they do, to believe in themselves and to do
whatever it takes to reach their goal. They communicate this
message through inspirational stories shared between musical
numbers. Sheltered Reality has many satellite groups through the
United States but is based in Iowa. The group that performed for
our community was made up of children ages 8 - 17.

Three different concerts allowed all of our preschool through high school students and staff to enjoy the performance of this group. A free evening performance was given as well so that the entire Erie community could enjoy this group. Students were invited to come early to the evening show to have a free drumming lesson; many students took advantage of this opportunity.

Sheltered Reality will be back in Erie in early June to recruit new members to their Moline group. Watch this web site for more information on the date and time for this opportunity.
