 Parents’ Club

Spring Carnival

 

The annual Parents’ Club Spring Carnival is Friday, May 2nd in the annex gym. This year’s theme is Hawaiian! Come out for a wonderful evening of family fun! Admission of $5 covers the cost of all games plus a free ticket for the bike raffle! A Pizza Hut dinner is available at a nominal cost. Children will love the fun games and the chance to win a cake at the popular cakewalk. Raffle tickets will be sold for a variety of great prizes, including a laptop, handyman tools and even jewelry!

 

Erie Elementary on TV!

 

The WQPT TV segment on Birds of Prey that was filmed at the elementary in February will be aired this Thursday, May 1st at 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday,and Sunday May 3rd & 4th at 6:30 on channel 12. It will be the 2nd segment shown in the program.  Mark your calendars to catch our 15 minutes of fame!

 

Summer Math Program

 

Boy and girls, keep your math skills sharp this summer by participating in the second annual Summer Math Program! Interested students entering 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade may participate in this optional program. Students simply pick up a math packet, complete the worksheets and return it to the elementary office. Session One will run from Monday June 2nd through Friday, June 20th. Session Two will run from Monday, August 4th through Friday, August 15th. Prizes will be awarded to all participating students.

In each session, one grand prize of a Webkin will be awarded to a student whose name is randomly drawn from all participating students!  Have fun practicing Math and win prizes too!!

Shining Stars

In April Guidance classes, students learned what it means to persevere, to continue to try your best even in hard times. Classroom teachers will nominate the student who best exemplifies this trait to be one of April’s Shining Stars.

 

PAL Winners

Students who demonstrate positive behavior on the playground and in the cafeteria in April include: Dakota Boone, Alexis Verkruysee, Heather Coers, Nathan Large, Jordan Westerfield, Delaney Schaffner, James Stratton, Bransen Rosenow, Christy Graszer, Bekah Ryan, Collin Rosenow, Kyle Schipper, Arrianne Lennox, Jack James, Liz Shellady and Courtney Spahr. We are proud of these students!

 

Fun Dress Days

Friday, April 25th was Color Wars Day at the elementary school. Each class was assigned a color to wear that day. The class with the highest percentage of participating students was Mrs. Wisdom’s class with 100% participation. This class won the prize of cookies for their classroom!

Our next Dress Day will be Friday, May 16th when the school dresses for Jungle Days. Pull out your favorite camouflage, spotted, striped or jungle print shirts, shorts or socks for this fun day!
