Thank you for attending Open House!!

I will be sending home reminders about your conference time that you signed up for at Open House.

Please be sure to dress your children appropriately for the weather.  Some of the mornings have been very chilly and students are coming to school with no coats.  BRRRRRR!

GOOD JOB PARENTS!!

Keep up the fantastic job on checking and signing your child's planner each and every day.

Don’t forget to pack a lunch if you are coming to the field trip on Friday,Oct. 17. If it is raining, our rain date is scheduled for Monday, October 20. We will be leaving the elementary around 10:00 and returning around 2:30.

AR STARTS
AR will be starting in 2B!! Students will be bringing home books with colored dots on them. Please remember that these books are for practice and should be fairly easy for your child. If your child is zooming through them, then they are entirely too easy. They should not take a long time to read unless they are reading a chapter book.
Have fun and happy reading!!

SCIENCE UPDATE:
We have been studying living and nonliving things. Some upcoming topics will be animal shelters, plants, and nutrients. Maybe while you are driving in the car, you could have your child help classify living and nonliving things that you see along the way.

SOCIAL STUDIES UPDATE:
Second grade students will be learning about the election process and we will be voting at school about some pretty important topics (such as What animal do you think the president should have?).
