Shining Stars!!

Our Character Education program, “Be a Shining Star”, has as its goal to develop a caring school environment through the teaching and modeling of positive character traits. Our Word of the Month program helps drive our character education program at Erie Elementary School. During weekly guidance lessons, students are given special lessons that help them develop the character trait that is being highlighted for that month.
Classroom teachers nominate students for performing good deeds that demonstrate the character trait of the month. The Shining Star Program recognizes these students each month by rewarding them with a certificate, a special message from their classroom teacher, and a special treat for being the Shining Star Student.
