Middle School Music

Upcoming Performances

    The month of March will be busy for music students at Erie Middle School. In addition to being Music in Our Schools Month, students will be presenting a concert performance  and performing in the Morrison Contest.

    On Tuesday, March 16th, the Erie Middle School 7/8 Band and Chorus will perform their contest selections for the public at a Pre-Contest Concert. The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Middle School gymnasium. The concert will be used as preparation for the contest performances at Morrison on Saturday,  March 20th.

    The Morrison Contest will involve all of the 7/8 Band and 7/8 Chorus members. The two groups will perform for judges who will evaluate the performances and provide feedback. The large group performances will be located in the Morrison High School Auditorium. The EMS Band will perform at 8:00 a.m. and the Chorus members will perform at 10:30 .a.m..

    In addition to the large group performances, select 6th, 7th and 8th grade band members and 7th and 8th grade chorus will perform as soloists and in small ensembles throughout the day. This part of the contest will be located in the Morrison Junior High School.  These performances will also be evaluated by judges and the students will receive feedback by the judges.

    At the conclusion of the contest, each judge will select an outstanding solo/ensemble performance and these students will then perform in an Honors Recital in the High School Auditorium. All performances are open to the public and there is no admission fee.
